Hey kids! This section of YardBuilder.com was made especially for you. Here you will learn about all the fun the outdoors has in store for you.
Sun Safety
Plants need sunlight to grow, and a little bit is good for humans, too. But too much sun can be dangerous. Here are some things to remember before you go work or play in the sunshine:
• Rub on some sunscreen.
• Cover up with a hat, sunglasses and long sleeves.
• When you are outside, find shade under a tree or an umbrella.
• Be sure to drink enough water.
Outdoor Safety
It’s fun to explore your yard and investigate all of the cool plants that grow there.
• Ask a parent to go outside with you.
• Stay far from the edge of ponds and from buckets filled with water.
• Never touch equipment, like lawn mowers or hedge trimmers. These can be dangerous and must be used only by adults.
• Lots of foods that are good for us – fruits and vegetables – are grown outside. But never put anything from outside in your mouth unless an adult says it’s OK.
